A new home may be exciting but also a little unsettling for kids
Moving your family into a new home is a big change for everyone and it can be just as scary as it is exciting.
Kids especially can have a hard time with change as they’ll be waking up in a new bedroom, far away from old neighbors that may have become friends and parks where some of their first memories formed.
Your children will of course learn to love their new home but spending a little extra time making the move fun for them can help them adapt faster and ease the struggle that comes along with big change.
You can use these free printables to help make the first few weeks easier on your entire family. These scavenger hunts will help your kids get to know the new house better and encourage them to check out every room in the house.
Some other fun move-in activities to try include:
- Take a family walk around the neighbourhood
- Explore a nearby park
- Help them call or write letters to their old friends
- Start a new tradition such as movie nights or taco Tuesdays
