With the beginning of spring colour seems to spring back into our lives. Whether it is with the sight of the first spring flowers or the amazing sunrises and sunsets that happen at the start and end of the working day.
Daffodils are a favourite spring flower of many of us. They don’t last long so enjoy them and maybe buy yourself a bunch or two to brighten up your home and remind you spring is just round the corner.
Enjoy being pampered for the day on mothers day. And if you have a mum – spoil her a little too. The thing is we don’t always appreciate our Mums until they are no longer with us.
Whether it is baking a cake, picking a bunch of daffodils or investing something a little more exotic like a spa day. You can search out the best offers with companies like Spa-finder who have some great Mothers Day offers if you spend £50 or more you get 10% off between now and the 31st March. Children’s clothes and toys
March is also a good time to sort out the kids clothes and toys. Clothes and toys that are too small or are looking for the worse for wear recycle or throw away.
For clothes that have some emotional attachment take a photo of your little cherub in the outfit or on their favourite scooter.
Make sure you limit the number of items you hold on to for emotional reasons otherwise they will become part of a mountain of clutter and lose their intrinsic value.
Traditionally March has always been the month to have a spring clean. This means attacking the jobs you only do two or three times a year. Take a look here if you are after more detailed information on spring cleaning.
March is a good time to have a clean up of the garden and attack the weeds before they really get going. Roundup is one of the best weed killers on the market, it kills weeds without poisoning the soil. Or if you want to be even more environmentally friendly then try white vinegar. This is cheap and very effective but it kills every plant that it touches. So use very carefully around shrubs – really it is better for paths.
March is also a good time to clean the patio furniture and the barbacue.
Have some time for you
Now after all that activity – March is a good time for you to have a bit of busy mum me time. Get into the habit of doing absolutely nothing for ten minutes a day.
Easter falls at the end of the month
Plan your Easter Treasure Hunt.
