The January busy mums to do list
Review your year
January is a good time to take a personal review of the last twelve months. Make sure you include the highs and lows, your achievements and disappointments. Take time to consider what you have learned in 2017.
Remember the phrase ” do what you have always done and you will get what you always got”. Now is a good time to try to do things differently.
What do you want to achieve
January is a good time to think about what you want to achieve in 2018. However it probably is not the best time to actually start tying to implement your new years resolutions.
This is particularly true if your new years resolution involves losing weight or keeping fit.
Think of January as the warm up or preparation for embarking on new stuff. Research, planning and getting into the right mindset is time well spent in January.
Have a post Christmas de-clutter
Once you have managed to pack the Christmas decorations away then why not have a post Christmas declutter?
Summer Holidays
The weather may be cold and inclement but it does not mean we can’t put summer holidays on the busy mums January to do list. Enjoy your plans and start discussing the different options and kinds of holidays your family might like now.
Whether you are planning a visit abroad, beach holiday or country cottage holiday – taking time to do your research and discussing what kind of holiday will work best for all the members of your family is time well spent.
Be entertained
- January is a great time to go to the cinema – there are so many good films on.
- Have a family night in with any DVD’s you received as Christmas presents.
- Go to the panto. If your local theatre is fully booked why not opt for going to your local amateur dramatics panto. Cheaper than attending a theatre and still great fun.
Review your winter wardrobe
Work out what is missing or lacking in your winter wardrobe and then see if you can pick the items up in the sale.

Create a 2018 Bucket List
A bucket list is a list of things you would like to do, visit or achieve. This would be a very nice thing to do over a family meeting.
It can then be your family’s very own bucket list for 2018 in which everyone has the opportunity to contribute and share the things they would like to do this year.
Just make sure you write it down and leave it somewhere everyone can see it.
