Halloween Treasure Hunts And Other Halloween Games
Now if you live in the States then this really is a bit of a non starter as an idea – but for us Brits apart from making the odd brave endeavour to cut out a pumpkin and venture round to the neighbours for a bit of trick or treating that maybe it as far as Halloween goes.
Even if you don’t fancy having an all out party why not get the kids involved in cooking ghostly treats.
Why not hold a Halloween Treasure Hunt. There are different ways you can set this up depending on how much time you want to spend on prep.
Halloween Treasure Hunt Ideas
Buy some Halloween goodies, cakes chocolates or whatever you fancy. Hide these around the house or garden, very much like you hide Easter Eggs and send the kids out to hunt for them. Keep a note of how many you hide – otherwise you and they will have no idea whether they have found all the hidden ghostly Halloween treasure.
If you don’t like the idea of hiding chocolates or food, hide little numbered notes round the house or garden. Then once they have found all the numbered notes they come and collect the ghostly Halloween booty from you.
Alternatively hide Halloween themed clues. This does not seem as tricky as it sounds. For example. “I can be found by the spooky green flower-pot by the haunted porch”.
More Simple Halloween Games
Make a monster picture by cutting out pictures from magazines.
Blind Mans Buff – an old favourite where one person is blindfolded and tries to catch someone while everyone else in the room haunts them. This is a good game to play with just family members with Mum or Dad being the one who is blindfolded.
The thing to remember is that just a few minutes out of your busy schedule, playing and interacting with your children will lead to a life time of memories for both you and them.
