One of the things which women really struggle with is finding enough time for themselves to do the little things in life which can make a big difference to the way we feel about ourselves and that illusive quality – confidence.
Some years ago I used to sell Weekenders clothes. Basically Weekenders was a direct sale business which worked in a similar way to Tuppaware, selling a range of clothes which were really versatile, and could be dressed up or down.
The reason I mention this is that so many of my customers used to either lack the time to go clothes shopping and hated the thought of those changing rooms. The final insult being those awful mirrors that magnify every lump and bump in your body and the disappointment when everything that you try on looks rubbish.
Now the same goes very much for make up too in my opinion. You decide you want a new make up look and the choice is generally to read about the look in a glossy magazine while you look at stunning photos of models half your age. Or if you are feeling really brave and in the mood to be up-sold a bunch of products you don’t really need, by the most approachable make up lady on the cosmetics counter at your local department store.
That is until U tube. Now there is another alternative. You can watch all manner of U tube videos on applying make up, independent products reviews on make up – and of course endorsed ones. They do offer a really good way to find the best products, and practice and perfect new make up looks in the comfort of your own home.
Of course there are numerous U tube videos to choose from. The quality of some is better than others – and the depth of experience. But here are two of my favourites. One with the lovely Lorna – a real young mum, with a very approachable girl next door air about her.
