There is still time to organise a simple bonfire party and make your own Guy. Take a look at the following fuss free bonfire night recipes, and this weekend you can keep the kids happily occupied making their own Guy Fawkes.
Alternatively see what organised firework displays are in your area. Note the time they start – and what time you will need to allow for travel and parking.
Ensure that everyone has warm clothes and suitable footwear. The last thing you want to be worrying about is cleaning muddy shoes the next morning.
Pets and Fireworks
Firework night is always tricky if you own a pet. However there is help with a range of products for cats, dogs and horses from Viovet.
You can also find advice here for pets that are frightened of fireworks.
Start cooking winter recipes
November is a great month to indulge in a couple of good old fashioned stews and a slow cooked Sunday lunch.
Do a diary check
It is always good to do a monthly diary check to see what is coming along over the next few weeks. However November and December it is even more important, as by the end of November all the Christmas events and activities are almost upon us making a little pre-planning time well spent.
Busy mums November tips – Look ahead
- Work out what you are doing and where you will be going in December
- Do you know what you will be wearing?
- Have you got baby sitters lined up?
- Dates for overseas Christmas cards to be posted.
- What other eventualities do you need to consider?
Christmas is closer than you may think
In fact Christmas starts way before Christmas day. Often at least a week before so it makes good sense to try and set a deadline to have completed all the Christmas shopping and wrapping. This way you will have more time to enjoy the festivities and it allows a little slack for anything which has been forgotten or crops up unexpectedly.
If you have not already started your Christmas shopping now is the time to write your Christmas to do list.. If you are shopping online then it is best to order early to ensure that your presents arrive in time. Often the closer to Christmas you get many of the more popular items tend to be on back order, or even out of stock so ordering important presents in good time takes one more thing off the conveyor belt.
