How Help for Busy Mums started
Diana the Editor of Help for Busy Mums founded the website as a result of her own experiences of being a busy mum with a family of four children and three step children all now grown up.
However the “busyness” still carries on in different forms with different challenges. Diana also has her own consultancy which provides business support, content writing and mentoring.
Busy mums and dads online help and support
Diana set up the website Help for Busy Mums in 2006 to provide online help and support to busy mums and dads who might benefit from some little extra help and advice to help them manage their time more effectively.
As the tag line on the website states “Things which matter most should never be at the mercy of things which happen least”
Why managing the work life balance became of interest
As a particularly imperfect scatter brained mum, of four children and three step children, all now grown up, Help for Busy Mums came about as a result of Diana’s own experiences as a Mum.
Having been a stay at home mum, a full time working mum and also a step mum in later years, she became very interested in how some people managed their time much more effectively than she could.
It appeared that some people were far more effective at managing their time or the magical work life balance more successfully than others – and this was not just your typical busy mums and dads, but men and women in all sorts of walks of life both in the workplace and outside of it.
This fueled an interest to read relevant books and copy other peoples “best practice” which eventually has made her a bit of an expert in managing her own time wisely. Although at times it could be described as still very much work in progress as her children and long suffering husband will testify to.
How Help for Busy Mums has grown
Help for Busy Mums now has more than fifteen categories – which cover everything from cooking and childcare to housework tips. Help for Busy Mums dovetails well with Diana’s business coaching and 1:1 training who are looking at ways to increase not just their efficiency but the quality of their lives. Personally we think the two go hand in hand.
Find out more about our 1:1 training and mentoring on our Groves & Associates website. We work with HR departments and individuals who are looking at ways to manage their time more effectively – often due to a change of circumstances or promotion.
