Small and insignificant actions to one person can mean such a lot to another. Gratitude is an emotion that we probably do not place as much value on as we should.
In a busy world where we can seem up against the clock far too often, it is easy to overlook small acts of kindness, a smile, a cheery word.
As someone who is probably a bit too much big picture and thoughtlessness is something I am sometimes very guilty of, it has been a bit of a timely reminder to try and improve my act a bit on the small positive and what I may consider insignificant actions. Just because I may consider these small actions insignificant, it is not necessarily how others will perceive them.
My mother who is great advocate of sayings but not particularly of the biblical kind, had a saying she used to quote to me quite often when I was a growing up. It goes something like this.
“Oh the gift of god to give us to see ourselves as others see us.”
Wouldn’t that be great to be able to view ourselves from someone else’s perspective.
