Focus on positive outcomes.
If you are feeling so busy you do not know which way to turn. Or maybe you have had an argument with someone close to you. Whatever the circumstance take a moment out and focus on a positive outcome.
Expectation is a powerful force. If you expect to feel stressed because you are too busy, the chances are you will. Equally if you mull over the argument you have had with someone, maybe considering the things you had planned to say but did not do so in the heat of the moment. The argument will continue to resonate with you.
In contrast if you focus on you being friends again, imagining maybe they understand your point of view, things are for more likely to work out.
If you find this theory a little on the whacky side, then it is worth noting that many very successful entrepreneurs use these strategies, as do sportsmen in a whole range of sports. In fact these techniques are taught to sales people as well as being used in a number of therapies quite successfully.
Focusing on a positive outcome is no different to facing challenges with optimism.
Visualising how you want to something to turn out is a really positive action you can do to take control of a situation which may seem you have no control of.
Try it – what have you got to lose.
